Bobbie Berkowitz, PhD, RN, CNAA, FAAN, Chair
Bobbie Berkowitz, PhD, RN, CNAA, FAAN is the Alumni Endowed Professor of Nursing, Psychosocial & Community Health at the University of Washington School of Nursing, and an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Health Services in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine.
She also directs both the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Turning Point National Program Office and the NIH/NINR-funded Center for the Advancement of Health Disparities Research at the University of Washington School of Nursing.
Ms. Berkowitz joined the faculty at the University of Washington in July 1996, after service as the Deputy Secretary for the Washington State Department of Health. Before 1993, she was Chief of Nursing for Public Health Seattle, King County.
She holds a PhD in Nursing Science from Case Western Reserve University and a BSN and Master of Nursing from the University of Washington. She is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Nursing. Ms. Berkowitz was elected to the Board of Trustees for Group Health Cooperative in 2004. She was elected to the Qualis Health Board of Directors in 1999.
